Who makes Psychology World
An independent studio that builds and publishes its own apps — and builds other people's.
Psychology World is developed and published by Nefarius Apps, an independent app studio registered in Istanbul as Nefarius Apps Bilgi Teknolojileri Limited Şirketi. The same company wrote the iOS app, compiled and edited the dictionary, designed the study games and maintains this website. There is no third party anywhere in that chain.
The app has been on the App Store since February 2020 and is still being worked on. It defines over 18,000 psychology and psychotherapy terms in English and German, and runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision. Its rating — 4.6 from 404 ratings — is the one claim on this site a stranger can check without taking our word for it.
Nefarius Apps releases its own apps rather than working only on contract, which is why the roadmap answers to the people using the app instead of to a client brief. When a definition is wrong, one small team fixes it. When a study mode is confusing, the same team rewrites it.
The studio publishes under its own name and says plainly what this app is not: Psychology World is not affiliated with the American Psychological Association or the APA Dictionary of Psychology. A reference app that overstates where its authority comes from is the reason people stop trusting reference apps.
